Description

Data for: Traffic influences nutritional quality of roadside plants for monarch caterpillars. This paper analyzes how roads influence the chemistry of soils, milkweed plants, and monarch caterpillars. The excel file has four tabs with the data used in this paper. Tab 1 has metadata. Tab 2 has the dataset with milkweed leaf chemistry and variables describing environment of the milkweed (e.g. distance from road, traffic volume, etc.). Tab 3 has soil chemistry and soil characteristics from soil samples taken at the base of the milkweed from tab 2. Tab 4 has chemistry of monarch caterpillars that were collected from milkweed plants within this study, as well as the chemistry of the milkweed they were feeding on.
