Description

To allow the development of an emulsion suitable to the pharmaceuticl application, an EHL study of the major compounds present in the essential oil of P. latifolia was conducted. Many pharmaceutical compounds have their EHL values described in the literature. However, for compounds derived from plant metabolism, these values are rarely available. To prepare a stable emulsion, it is useful to previously study the EHL and the solubility of the lipid chain of the surfactants that will make up the oil phase.

Steps to reproduce

The first step for the development of the nanoemulsified system was to determine the EHL values of the essential oil and major compounds in order to select the surfactant concentration. The detailed description is provided in the word file.
