Description

This dataset offers a unique possibility to explore the relationship between digital innovation and financial access for small and medium-sized enterprises in a currency union composed of eight countries over three decades, by providing financial, macroeconomic, corporate financial, and monetary data for 90 variables. The dataset combines data from four official data sources. Annual data has been used to examine the state of digital financial innovation and inclusive banking within the currency union. Quarterly data has been filtered and analyzed to conduct various estimations of the dynamic stochastic general equilibrium model designed to conduct this topical experiment. The dataset has the potential to contribute to the investigation of the implications of digital innovation for SMEs' financial access and productivity growth within a currency union facing financial exclusion; to enrich finance, macroeconomic, corporate finance, and monetary economics literatures on the role of digital financial inclusion on financial access and productivity beyond inclusive banking in a currency union; and to formulate policy-relevant recommendations for decision-making.
