Description

The data were provided by the open-file report 02-227 (Coombs et al. 2002) from United States Geological Survey. The 10,200 sample sites are in southeastern Oregon, southwestern Idaho, northeastern California, and, primarily, in northern Nevada. These samples were collected before the development of most of the present-day large-scale mining infrastructure in northern Nevada, a very suitable condition for testing the new methodology. Just the subset in Nevada was retained for analysis, restricted to the Robert Mountains Allochthon. This subset is divided into three parts – A is a low mineralized area, B belongs to the Carlin trend mineralized area, with many CTGD´s. A third subset C for validation purpose is below area A and is part of the Pipeline-Cortez trend.
