Description

Fire weather index (FWI) is an indicator of fire potential used in the Canadian Forest Fire Weather Index System (Van Wagner, 1987). It is calculated daily from weather measurements at the stations. Presented data include values of the June maxima of the FWI obtained at 13 stations (columns) in British Columbia from 1970 until 2014 (rows). The data were kindly provided by Steve Taylor, Pacific Forestry Centre, Canadian Forest Service. The data origin is BC Wildfire Service, Ministry of Lands, Forests, and Natural Resource Operations.
