Description

This document compiles the testimonies of the students who participated in the “1st University Meeting ‘With Feet on the Ground: Reflections on Sustainability (Information vs Opinion)’”, co-funded by the Fundación de Alcalá and held in Sigüenza on 22, 23 and 24 October 2021. These activities were carried out within the framework of the Teaching Innovation Project “Challenges and Gamification to Work on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Science Fiction: Information vs Opinion” (UAH/EV1258), developed at the University of Alcalá, by the teaching team of the EDUCA-ODS-UAH working group. The activities designed for this project were based on challenge-based learning (CBL) and gamification strategies (role-playing), with the aim of fostering awareness of specific social, political and environmental issues and of creating collaborative, multidisciplinary learning models. These methodologies sought to strengthen the connection between what students learn in academic contexts and how they perceive and interpret the world around them. All sessions revolved around the television series The Collapse (L’effondrement, 2019). Following the activities developed over the three-day programme, participants were asked in writing the following question: “What would you do to improve your present while thinking about your future?” The responses are transcribed below. First, the testimonies are presented in Spanish, followed by their English translation.
