Presence values of Dracaena ombet Heuglin. ex Kostchy and peyer. from NE Ethiopia(Tigray & AFar)r
Description
Our research hypothesis were, does the climate change affect the current and future habitat suitability of Draceana ombet? What are the tope environmental factors affectiong for its habitate suitability? It is collected by human observation, in north East Ethiopia, TIgray ( South Eastern zone, Enderta, Eastern Zone) and Afar(Gellaesso, Aballa, Murga, Wessema, Kusurtu, Dessa'a, Feresdege, Koneba, Ereptie, Berahille) from July 2018 – October 2020. Purpose for my PhD dissertation in Addis Ababa University, College of Computational Sciences, Department of Plant Biology and Biodiversity Management. Methdology= Initially from July 2018 reconnaissance survey was taken with GPS and including photographs with Esential GPS softwares which record the location of each pictures taken( GPS points where the trees are found). After that intensive survey population of the species and vegetation data associated with the species, soil samples, coordinates, were taken using plots. It is more than 120kms length and 5okms width habitat. Additional data 10 percent were processed in office from Googel earth using Global mapper taking references from the dense Dracaen ombet field wood lands. From our data analysis, the fate of this species remained highly restricted in narrow portion, especially in pocket and hotspot NE of the country. Therefore, maintenance of D. ombet population in the existing low climate change impact sites, by strengthening protection or making it as bio-reserve, planting and introducing it to not occupied suitable areas is crucial for safeguarding these endangered species from extinction. Regard to the future distribution of this species, the future models suggest that there will be loss for high suitable areas only in the 2050s lower climate projection (SSP2_4.5), but in the rest projections and years, gaining of suitable habitats are revealed. However, in the 2070s the gain for very high suitability is less than the 2050s in both scenarios, this implies loss of very high suitability will start after 2050s. Solar radiation of April KJ m-2 day-1, Solar radiation of October, Solar radiation of August, precipitation of April month and annual precipitation are the most top 5 influential factors respectively for the habitat suitability of the species.

Steps to reproduce
Initially we got an idea this endangered species( Dracaena ombet) is found on the study sites (Ermias Aynekulu et al, 2011). We wrote proposal with more than 3 objectives. Purpose for my PhD dissertation in Addis Ababa University, College of Computational Sciences, Department of Plant Biology and Biodiversity Management. One of these objectives were modeling the habitat suitability of this species with climate change. So this needs a lot of presence(occurrence) and none occurrence records. Methodology= Initially from July 2018 reconnaissance survey was taken using local guides on the fields traveling by cars and on foot, with GPS and including photographs with Esential GPS installed on Mobile smart phone which record the location of each pictures taken( GPS points where the trees are found). During that intensive survey, coordinates(latitude ,longitude, altitude, aspect) of the species populations and the other vegetation associated with the species, soil samples were taken using plots. It is more than 120kms length and 5okms width habitat. It is collected by human observation, in north East Ethiopia, TIgray ( South Eastern zone, Enderta, Eastern Zone) and Afar (Gellaesso, Aballa, Murga, Wessema, Kusurtu, Dessa'a, Feresdege, Koneba, Ereptie, Berahille) from July 2018 – October 2020. Additional data 10 percent were processed in office from Google earth using Global mapper taking references from the dense Dracaen ombet field wood lands. Repetition of data were checked using Spthin function on R-software, only a single data within 1km distance was selected.
