Continuous and Pulsed LED light Energy Consumption
Description
To determine the advantages and disadvantages of the energy-saving pulsed LED light technique in artificial lighting systems applied in closed plant production systems (CPPS), the energy equivalence between continuous LED light (commonly used) and pulsed LED light is required. In pulsed light technology, different pulse frequencies and duty cycles can be used. The collected data shows the energy consumption values (W/h) of ten light recipes to growth plants reported in the literature for each set of intensities (50, 110 y 180 umol m-2 s-1), frequencies (100, 500 and 1000 Hz) and duty cycle (40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80% and 90 %). The results show significant energy savings for each recipe, determining its frequency and specific duty cycle. The experiment was repeated three times, the data is shown in each excel sheet.
