Description

This dataset was generated to look into diagnostic clues and accuracies of malaria in the emergency department of Hong Kong. Patient demographics, clinical features and laboratory findings extracted from all patient discharged with the diagnosis of "malaria" from a tertiary metropolitan trauma emergency department. Additional information including patient outcome and emergency department interventions are also available. This dataset contains 70 patients from 2009 to 2019.

Steps to reproduce

a search for the diagnosis of malaria and associated symptoms (cerebral malaria, plasmodium infection) were conducted in the hospital electronic patient database. Furthermore, all malaria positive lab results were included to generate a list of patients diagnosed with malaria from 2009 to 2019. Data of clinical presentation were extracted from clinical notes and electronic laboratory database of the Hospital.
