This dataset explores the understanding, perception, and application of gender equality laws in Vietnam, particularly focusing on the Law on Gender Equality 2006 (LGE 2006) and its relevant sub-law documents. The data was collected through a survey and includes responses from individuals of different genders and educational backgrounds. The key areas covered in the dataset are: 1. Demographics: + Gender of respondents. + Educational background and major. 2. Understanding of Vietnamese Law: + General understanding of Vietnamese law. + Specific understanding of gender law and the Law on Gender Equality 2006. 3. Interest and Exposure: + Level of interest in gender equality laws. + Exposure to and familiarity with LGE 2006. 4. Application and Witnessing of LGE 2006: + Instances where respondents have witnessed or applied LGE 2006. + Specific cases and examples provided by respondents. 5. Perception of Gender Equality Laws: + Respondents' agreement or disagreement with statements about the importance and relevance of gender equality laws. + Reasons for their level of agreement, including societal, environmental, and traditional influences. 6. Assessment of Sub-Law Documents: + Understanding and assessment of relevant sub-law documents. + Perceived deterrence and applicability of these documents in real-life situations. 7. Concerns and Shortcomings: + Level of concern about women's rights and gender equality. + Personal assessment of the current state of women's rights and gender equality in Vietnamese society. + Identification of shortcomings and their perceived impact. 8. Causes of Gender Inequality: + Respondents' opinions on the causes of gender inequality, including historical, social, and legal factors. 9. Comments and Suggestions: + Additional comments on the attention given to gender equality issues. + Suggestions for improving the implementation of substantive gender equality in Vietnam. Steps to reproduce

This dataset was created during the collection of the author based on the survey conducted within my research process via Google Form and also some quick interview to fill in the questionnaire.
