Elastic characterization of shale by using micromechanical mapping methods

Description

A terrestrial shale sample from the Yanchang Formation in the Ordos Basin China is prepared for the mechanical characterization. The test area is selected through the SEM observation and EDS analysis. Modulus mapping (MM), Peakforce quantitative nanomechancial mapping (PFQNM), and contact resonance (CR) test are carried out on the shale sample. The EDS maps and micromechanical test results (in the form of data array) are provided in the dataset. The description of each micromechanical mapping test can be found in the corresponding folder.
