Description

Duration of ICME signatures identified in in-situ data by Zsuzsanna Dalya for the space probes ACE, STEREO A&B, Wind, SolO, PSP, DSCOVR, VEX, MAVEN and Messenger, from the year of 2004 until the year of 2021. The data is ordered into folders based on the space probes. The dataset of each space probe is segmented into files of a full year's worth of data. The columns of the files contain: ICME start year, month, day, hour, minute ICME end year, month, day, hour, minute

Steps to reproduce

The in situ ICME characteristics accepted in the literature are the following: • the enhancement of total perpendicular pressure (Pt) • a stronger than ambient magnetic field • relatively quick and smooth magnetic field rotations • discontinuity in the time series of the key parameters • declining solar wind bulk velocity in the magnetic obstacle (because of the expansion) • low proton temperature • bidirectional strahl electrons (BDEs) • low plasma β (ratio of the plasma thermal pressure to the magnetic pressure) • density decrease. The presence of at least three characteristics together was a condition to identify a signature as an ICME, according to which the identification was performed.
