Data for: Multi-stage evolution of the Xuhuai rift: Insights from the occurrence and compositional profiles of doleritic sills in the southeastern margin of the North China Craton
Description
The chemical data measured from the Pingshan sill is presented in Supplementary Table S1. The variations in composition of intercumulus and cumulus clinopyroxene present an almost M-shaped profile. Some of the clinopyroxene grains is always normally zoned, with high Mg# (and En) cores passing into low Mg# (and En) rims with compositional differences of up to 19 % (10 % for En). Although clinopyroxene have variable compositions (Wo37.7-47.6En34.5-47.7Fs9.8-26.6) and Mg# (0.57-0.83), with relatively low TiO2 (0.5-1.3 wt%), MnO (0.1-0.5 wt%) and Na2O (0.2-0.7 wt%) contents, it should be noted that clinopyroxene with highest Mg# [Mg/(Mg+Fe2+)] and En at 39 m, 20 m and 11.5 m height. It is difficultly attributed the crossover levels for En and Mg# in clinopyroxene from this sill to mechanical sorting of clinopyroxene crystals in a single magma injection.
