The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has impacted the various sectors of the world economy including education, employment, agricultural works, deprived daily wages, industries, tourism and hospitality, transport, automobile, real estate and individual’s emotional well-being. The schools, colleges and universities shut down temporarily due to the coronavirus crisis and public health awareness. The students and educators around the world are experiencing the extraordinary ripple effect of the novel coronavirus pandemic. This article reviews the COVID-19 pandemic impact on the global education system in the present and long run. This article sheds light on disruptions caused for students, faculty members and parents due to the shutdown of educational institutions. It also emphasises the possible alternatives for interrupted education during COVID-19. Further, it discusses the necessity and impact of the inclusion of technology in teaching and its limitations.
