Description

The unconfined compressive strength (UCS) results were used to determine the strength development of the geopolymer-stabilized clay samples activated by a conventional sodium hydroxide activator and the ASM activator. The effects of modulus ratio (SiO2/Na2O), content of the activators, as well as the GGBS content, water content, and curing time on the strength development of the geopolymer-stabilized clay samples were evaluated. Average test results of three samples are reported as the UCS of the samples. The unit of UCS results is MPa. The microstructural analyses of the samples were conducted using 29Si magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (MAS-NMR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The 29Si MAS-NMR spectra were obtained at a Larmor frequency of 59.61 MHz with a Varian Inova300 NMR spectrometer using magic angle spinning at 6.9 kHz. The XRD analysis was conducted using a D8 Advance X-Ray diffractometer using Cu-Kα radiation (40kV, 200mA) with a scanning rate of 2°/min from 40° to 140° (2θ).
