Description

The dataset, presents insight on the effect of video packet size on quality performance of mobile video services. It has been observed that the quality performance of smaller video packet size improves significantly at poor channel condition compared to large video packet sizes. The dataset can be used by researchers to study the relationship between video packet size and quality performance of video communication.

Steps to reproduce

Carry out the experiment using H.264/AVC reference software for source coding and segmentation of video packet sizes. Use standard test video sequences at 30Hz, in common intermediate format for mobile applications. Configure video packet sizes for the experiment. Segment media streams into different packet sizes prior to transmission over wireless channel. Record the quality performance of the received media streams using Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) software for quality performance assessment.
