Description

Vietnam has achieved remarkable success in defeating COVID-19, which has killed nearly 3.3 million people globally. The per capita case fatality rate due to coronavirus in this country is the lowest in the world, demonstrating that Vietnam has managed to prevent and control the epidemic effectively. Although many studies have been conducted to learn about the various dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic, little is known about how people evaluate the government's role in managing such a public health crisis. This data article presents Vietnamese people’s satisfaction with the government response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The data were collected durng mid-November 2020, after Vietnam experienced the second nationwide lockdown due to the COVID outbreak, including socioeconomics (6 items); the management style of the government (3 items); protection measures (8 items); communication and propaganda (6 items); detection and isolation (4 items); facilities and medical resources (5 items); and resident satisfaction (6 items). A random-stratification technique was used to reach 381 interviewees in 8 districts of Hanoi, Vietnam, for a face-to-face survey in the format of a 5-point Likert scale.
