The data-set reports the hourly carbon dioxide emission factors related to electricity consumption and expressed in kg/kWh for Italy over a period of 4 years (2016-2019). The model employed to determine the hourly emission factor is presented in: “Interpolating functions for CO2 emission factors in dynamic simulations: the special case of a heat pump”, by Valdiserri P., Ballerini V. and Rossi di Schio E.., at present submitted for publication. The distinctive characteristics of the model are: - electricity exchanges between Italy and other Countries are taken into account; - power grid losses are considered; - the emission factor is referred to electricity consumed in Italy and not only on electricity produced.
