Description

This dataset is used to validate EnergyPlus prediction against the real data. The selected office building is located near Munich (Regensburg). The total floor area of the building is 1200 sq. m. with rectangular floor plan of dimensions of 14.7×27 m. The building has three floors and floor-to-floor height of 3.25 m. The actual heating and cooling energy consumption has been recored for two year 2017 and 2018. We developed an early stage EnergyPlus model using one-zone-per-floor rule for creating thermal zones. The simulation results shows an energy requirement of 44.3 MWh/a against the actual average energy consumption of 43.97 MWh/a.

Steps to reproduce

1. Run EnergyPlus simulation using EPSimulation.idf and the weather data of Munich (Munich.epw). EnergyPlus version 9.2.0 is suitable for this file. 2. Calculate energy requirement for heating and cooling demand from the simulation output. Alternatively, EPSimualtion.csv can be used for EnergyPlus simulation results. The design parameters can be verified though matching values of design parameters from Parameters.csv file and generated EnergyPlus output files (such as geometry, u-values, infiltration and other parameters). 3. Compare the simulated and actual energy demand. The result of comparison are provided through a graph in ValidationResult.pdf file.
