Description

Our double-blind prospective randomized study was performed at Ankara University Medical School, Laboratory of Experimental Animals and Research. Thirty Wistar Albino rats were randomized into 3 groups, 10 rats in each group. End-to-end colorectal anastomosis was performed on rats in all groups after rectal transection. Postoperatively, groups were administered 10 mg/kg isotonic saline, 20 mg/kg meperidine, and 1 mg/kg ketorolac intramuscularly, respectively. On the post-operative 7th day, the anastomosis line was resected and the Nair Score, anastomotic burst pressure and OH-Proline levels were compared.
