Description

Blender files configurated for several locomotion simulators which allow the user to create different virtual traces by changing different parameters such as the size and shape (i.e. body structure) of the trace maker. Six files with different configurations are provided here. The user can also change the parameters of the metachronal wave controlling the trilobite gait. Download Blender (https://www.blender.org) and set up the add-on animations nodes (https://animation-nodes.com) to visualize the results: BF1-Placoparia; BF2-Illaenus; BF3-Megistaspis; BF4-Tetraspis; BF5-Lonchodomas and BF6-Eccaparadoxides. BF1-BF5 are based on 3D models, the latter (BF6) is configured using 2D measurements. Videos: Video S1. Description of the locomotion model Video S2. Locomotion modelling in Placoparia cambriensis showing different gaits according to the wave number (k). Video S3. Locomotion modelling in Placoparia cambriensis showing the virtual traces according to different wave numbers (k). Video S4. Locomotion and V-set pattern in Placoparia cambriensis
