Description

The relative condition factor and weight-length relationships were calculated for three Brachyuran species: Cardisoma guanhumi Latreille, 1828, Goniopsis cruentata Latreille, 1803 and Ucides cordatus (Linnaeus, 1763). The crabs were collected in mangrove areas in the Goiana River estuary on the northern coast of the state of Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. The linear regression models of LWRs for the three species were significant with the r2 value ranging from 0.60 to 0.77. Besides the intraspecific differences related to sex, all species showed negative allometric growth (b < 3). Results provide a comparative estimation of WLRs and relative condition factor for these species. In addition, to our knowledge, these are the first data of length-weight relationship and relative condition factor for C. guanhumi.
