List of Technical Universities in the World

Description

Technical Universities are often designated as University of Science and Technology, the University of Engineering and Technology, or the Polytechnic Institute. For this study, institutions were categorized into two distinct types: Technical Universities (TUs) and General Universities (GUs). The population of this study includes the top universities worldwide. The QS World University Ranking (2025) was used as sampling frame for the population.

Steps to reproduce

1. Download two columns from QS World University Ranking (2025) Index Number and Name of the University (Total 1503 universities) 2. Remove all records except university names having the word "Tech" 3. The following groups of universities were included in the list: University of Science and Technology, University of Engineering and Technology, or Polytechnic Institute (A Total of 201 Technical universities are listed).
