Dataset of Risk of Fear and Anxiety in Utilising Health App Surveillance Due to COVID-19: Gender Differences Analysis

The data presented in this article is used to highlights the psychological determinants stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic that affect the usage of a mobile health app. The 738 records were gathered in Saudi Arabia using an online survey to collect data. The study followed a cross-sectional design and adopted a snowball sampling technique to collect the data. A statistical analysis of the dataset was analyzed using partial least squares (PLS-SEM). This data shows a significant association between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, event-related fear and Tabaud App intention. The relationships between Tabaud App intention and COVID-19 anxiety on Tabaud App usage were also revealed. The study found a significant association between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. Additionally, the multi-group analysis showed that only two paths related to Tabaud App intention, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, differed significantly between males and females. Additionally, women experienced anxiety disorders more than men. data was gathered via google forms, from the Saudi citizens, who were using Exposure detection apps. The participants were from the five provenances of Saudi Arabia; Western province, Eastern province, Middle province, Northern province, and Southern province. The content and construct validity of the questionnaire items were validated using the assistance of academic experts. Each questionnaire had information on the first page, including the title, the study purpose, and the time estimated to fill the questionnaire. After the consent, participants clicked “start the survey” and answered the questions. Participants received the questionnaire to be answered through social media websites and applications such as WhatsApp’s groups via a non-probabilistic snowball sampling technique for respondents’ recruitment because social distancing is a critical matter during this pandemic outbreak
