This data contains elemental concentrations from sediment extracted from cores taken in Castlewood State Park floodplain in Valley Park, MO. This data shows that elemental lead (Pb) was in high enough concentrations within this one floodplain that it can be detected using a pXRF. We use this data to show that lead has been deposited from upstream for many years as it exceeds 2 m of deposition in some locations within the floodplain in question. This data serves the foundation of a paper we have published.
