Description

Abstract The O (α_s ) corrections to the vacuum polarization tensor of the gauge bosons are presented for both light and heavy quark flavours in the standard model of electroweak interactions on the basis of a running coupling constant α_s . The influence of Υ{hooked}, T_band θ resonance as well as the proper threshold behaviour of the imaginary part of the vacuum polarization function are incorporated in the analysis. The real part is calculated numerically through the properly subtracted dispersio... Title of program: QCDPI Catalogue Id: ABRC_v1_0 Nature of problem In principle, one can calculate self-energy graphs by using ordinary Feynman integral techniques and e.g. the dimensional regularization method. However, the direct calculation of the considered two-loop amplitude disregards important physical features such as the energy dependence of the strong coupling constant alpha s and the existence of boundstate resonances in the threshold region. Dispersion relations, which allow to compute the real part of an analytic function from its imaginary part, p ...
