Scoping review following PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Systematic search of PubMed/MEDLINE, Embase (via Ovid), Web of Science Core Collection, and bioRxiv/medRxiv from inception through February 2026. Search combined technology terms (scRNA-seq, scATAC-seq, spatial transcriptomics, Visium, MERFISH, GeoMx) with disease/tissue terms (hair follicle, alopecia areata, cicatricial alopecia, androgenetic alopecia, scalp). From 387 identified records, 298 were screened after duplicate removal, 44 underwent full-text review, and 18 studies were included. Data extraction used a standardized charting form. Narrative thematic synthesis across four domains: immune cell landscapes, spatial niche mapping, computational methodology, and translational target discovery.
