Vaccine hesitancy and refusal among parents of children aged 5-11: evidence from the COVID-19 pandemic in the Southern part of Italy.
Description
The dataset was used in a cross-sectional study primarily aimed to evaluate parental hesitancy and refusal regarding COVID-19 vaccination for children. This study was conducted, between May and September 2022 in amog a sample of parents of children between 5 and 11 years of the Calabria Region. The information was collected through a online questionnaire that was filled in by respondents. The online survey was available on the school's web site home page and electronic register of classes, in addition in order to reach partecipants who did not use the Internet, data collection was also carried out using a papare questionnaire. An anonymous and structured questionnaire was used, comprising of five sections: (1) the first section gathered data on demographic characteristics; (2) the second section aimed to assess parents' knowledge regarding COVID-19 and vaccination in children; (3) the third section evaluated concer and beliefe regarding the risk of COVID-19 and immunization and children; (4) the fourth section explored the COVID-19 vaccination history of the parental and his/her child, and the intentions, if any, to vaccinate him/her, along with reason for thir decision; (5) the fifth section collected data on vaccination information sources and whether parents felt in need of additional information.
