PRD Variable Indicator Summary Table 2008-2021

Description

Panel dataset covering the nine Pearl River Delta cities (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhaoqing, Huizhou, Dongguan, and Zhongshan) for 2008–2021 (126 city-year observations). Variables include industrial and total electricity consumption, current-price GDP and secondary/tertiary-industry value added, fixed-asset investment, population, employment, CPI and price-deflator series, environmental and pollution indicators (SO2, CO2, nighttime lights), and auxiliary sample-flag variables used to construct the reference estimation sample. Data were compiled from city statistical yearbooks and municipal statistics-bureau tables. The dataset supports the panel regressions, descriptive statistics, and robustness checks reported in the accompanying article.
