Description

The dataset contains results of Geochemical investigation on Kupfershiefer samples from Fore-Sudetic Monocline within Poland borders. The samples of Kupfershiefer were collected from underground workings of the Legnica–Głogów Copper District (LGOM), operated by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A., as well as from several boreholes located within the Fore-Sudetic Monocline. After preliminary analyses of 38 rock samples, 10 Kupferschiefer shale samples were selected for detailed investigation. The selection criterion for detailed analysis was based on parameters obtained from Rock-Eval pyrolysis. In addition, kerogen was isolated from selected samples to determine its elemental composition, including atomic H/C and O/C ratios. For the same samples, extractable organic matter (EOM) was also obtained and subsequently analyzed to assess its genetic origin. The sample symbols used in article ”Geochemical characterization of Kupferschiefer in terms of assessment of hydrocarbon generation potential” (Matyasik et al.) are correlated here (Table_Samples) to codes given at the laboratory testing stage. The raw data are arranged in folders referring to the used analytical methods: Rock Eval prolysis (RE), capillary gas chromatography (GC), elemental composition (Elem), thermal analysis (TG), and calculation of decomposition kinetics, based on thermal analysis (Kinetics).
