Description

This data is part of a research on Craft Pedagogy. In this study we collected data through Semi-structured interviews and questionnaire from Antaran Artisan Connect. Antaran is a foundation supported by Tata Trust. It is a five-year pilot project implemented across four states of India. We have collected our data from the state of Assam where Anataran have two clusters i.e., Kamrup and Nalbari cluster. Data collection involved engaging with 84 Artisan Associates (AAs) through questionnaire and conducted semi-structured interviews with 34 Artisan Entrepreneurs (AEs). Through the questionnaire, we aimed to grasp the demographic information of the artisans. The semi-structured interviews were specifically designed for the AEs, with the objective of understanding their learning experiences in the realms of design and managerial skills. All interviews were conducted in Hindi, a non-regional language. The participants were comfortable with the language. The interviews were transcribed verbatim, and open coding was performed on the data. Next, a closed coding was also performed with respect to the craft nomenclature formulated by us.
