1985 Limassol Anti-Arab Riot Newspaper Dataset
Description
This dataset consists of 25 mainstream Greek Cypriot newspaper issues published from 12/08/85 to 25/08/85 that discuss the 1985 Anti-Arab Riot which took place on 17/08/85 in Limassol, Cyprus. The dataset also includes a political leaflet circulated by anarchists in August 1985 in relation to the riot, and an additional Greek Cypriot socialist newspaper issue published in August-September 1985.

Steps to reproduce
All data were collected from two digital open-access archives. The first is the digital newspaper archive of the Press and Information Office (PIO) of the Republic of Cyprus (https://pressarchive.cy/s/el/page/homepage). All 25 mainstream newspaper issues were collected from the PIO archive. The socialist newspaper issue and the anarchist leaflet were both collected from the second archive utilised, the Cyprus Movements Archive (https://movementsarchive.org), a grassroots open-access digital archive collecting material produced by the radical political milieu of Cyprus.
