Description

Data and Code Repository: Academic Freedom and Creativity: An Empirical Investigation **Overview** This replication package contains the datasets and Stata do-files required to reproduce the empirical findings for the paper "Academic Freedom and Creativity: An Empirical Investigation" (Journal of Development Economics). **Study Summary** The accompanying research investigates the causal impact of academic freedom reforms on graduates' labor-market creativity. The study demonstrates that longer exposure to reformed higher-education environments significantly increases graduates' entry into creativity-intensive occupations, such as high-tech, research, and managerial roles. These effects are found to be most pronounced in developing countries and decentralized, low-corruption systems. **Contents of this Package** * **Datasets:** Contains the cleaned data necessary for the empirical analysis, including graduate labor-market outcomes, higher-education reform indicators, and institutional environment variables. * **Do-files (Stata Code):** A complete set of Stata scripts designed to replicate all main results, tables, and figures presented in the paper. This includes the code for the primary Difference-in-Differences (DID) estimators, Instrumental-Variable (IV) strategies, and various placebo and robustness tests. **Software Requirements** * Stata (Version [Insert Version, e.g., 16.0] or higher)
