Description

Chapter 3: Kinematic and Kinetic Measurements of Human Body Study and examples for the first step to implement a solution for Biomechatronics: Data acquisition. Explaining the different types of signals that can be obtained from the real world: analog, discrete, and digital. How to sample analog signals and convert them to digital signals. Signal conditioning to convert the digital signal into a smooth electric signal through the use of filters to eliminate frequencies based in electrical noise and/or electromagnetic noise. Different approaches to obtain valid information from data acquisitions systems based on Biomedical devices as: Bioinstruments like the Electromyography (EMG), Floor sensing systems to obtain Ground Reaction Forces (GRF), Image Processing system for estimation of joint motion, and the convenient use of wearable sensors. Examples of data signal processing for different approaches using the programming language MATLAB®.
