Description

The data presented is data from gasification experiments using municipal solid waste pellet-based downdraft gasifier. there are two files, one file in the form of a spreadsheet whose contents are experimental data that has been processed. the second data is in the form of a powerpoint with a series of experimental images and graphs of processed data. The aim of this research are to Increasing the syngas heating value and reduce the tar content by modifying the single-stage gasifier to be multi-stage by adding air to the pyrolysis zone and preheat air. The influence of equivalent ratio, air ratio, preheat air temperature was investigated. When the equivalent ratio is increased, the flammable gas and LHV components decrease. Between the equivalent ratio and the Air ratio, the most effective effect on gasification performance is the air ratio or adding air to the pyrolysis zone. The results of this study can be used for multi-stage gasifier optimization using preheat air.

Steps to reproduce

this data was obtained from gasification experiments using a downdraft gasifier. Single stage downdraft gasifier with an air inlet in the oxidation zone is modified into a multi-stage with the air inlet zone of pyrolysis and oxidation. Also, an external air heater using a coil heater was added after the blower. The air supply uses a blower with a 2-inch outlet diameter. Single-stage and multi-stage settings are carried out by controlling the amount of air entering the oxidation zone and pyrolysis using a valve. The remaining gasification of the ash drops at the bottom of the gasifier and is stored using the ash box. Preheat air in the gasification agent uses an induction heater system.Preheat air is carried out starting from the beginning of the gasification operation until the end of the data collection. The heated air is what enters the pyrolysis and partial oxidation zones. the air flow rate and syngas are measured based on the pressure difference using a pitot tube that is connected to a pressure transducer. gas composition was analyzed using gas chromatography. the temperature distribution along the gasifier is measured using a thermocouple and the data is stored using a data logger. all collected data is processed using Microsoft Excel software and processed data is presented in graphical form. this data can be reproduced by adjusting the contents of the data based on the graph sequence in the journal that has been written.
