Description

This dataset contains the derived vector data used to analyze shoreline change along the southeastern coast of Bangladesh (Chattogram District) from 2000 to 2024. The data includes the delineated annual shoreline positions and the final output from the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS), which contains the calculated rates of shoreline change. The data is provided to ensure the transparency and reproducibility of our research findings. As of, this manuscript has been submitted for consideration for publication. The metadata for this dataset will be updated to include the final citation upon publication.

Steps to reproduce

The shorelines were delineated from Landsat 7 ETM+ (2000-2010) and Harmonized Landsat-Sentinel (HLS) (2015-2024) satellite imagery. The raw imagery is publicly available from the USGS Earth Explorer and NASA's LP-DAAC. The land-water boundary for each year was extracted using the Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI). The resulting vector shorelines were then analyzed using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) v5.1 extension for ArcGIS to calculate rates of change. For a complete description of the methodology, please refer to the associated manuscript.
