Formation of protective surface films on carbon steel in mildly alkaline aqueous alkanolamine CO2 solutions data
Description
The formation of surface films on carbon steel electrodes in aqueous methyldiethanolamine solutions, saturated with carbon dioxide at 80 °C was investigated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The raw experimental and simulated electrochemical impedance data used to produce Figures 6, 7 and 11 are included.

Steps to reproduce
The data provided is unprocessed. Impedance data were recorded using a BioLogic potentiostat and EC-Lab software. The simulated impedance data were produced using EC-Lab software. A AgCl | Ag (saturated KCl) reference electrode was used. Therefore, the working electrode potential is vs. AgCl | Ag (saturated KCl). A full description of the reagents, solution temperature, composition and concentration can be found in the methods section of the manuscript.
