Data for: The innovative fabrication and applications of carvacrol nanoemulsions, carboxymethyl chitosan microgels and their composite films
Description
Carvacrol was made physically stable nanoemulsions using an innovative spontaneous emulsification method with carvacrol itself as oil phase without introducing other carrier oil and the preparation conditions of the nanoemulsions are optimizeds. Self-crosslinking carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCTS) microgels via intermolecular hydrogen bonds were then fabricated by a simple solvent exchange method with ethanol as poor solvent and the microgels are employed as film-forming raw materials to produce the CMCTS films on the surface of tin foil via an electrospray technique . The carvacrol nanoemulsions (CNEs) were loaded into the CMCTS films by utilizing swelling property of CMCTS microgels in aqueous solution and the performances of the CNEs@CMCTS films as active packaging are studied in detail.
