Description

This IRF‑A Classroom Dialogue Dataset contains lesson‑level cognitive and structural dialogue indicators for 437 de‑identified Chinese secondary‑school lessons (Grades 10‑12), coded via the extended IRF‑A discourse framework and Bloom’s revised taxonomy using AI‑assisted annotation with manual reliability checks; the main CSV file records metrics for teacher initiation, student response, teacher feedback and student‑initiated questioning alongside composite sequence indicators, with supplementary files offering sample stratification and non‑joinable teacher contextual metadata, and the dataset is released under CC BY 4.0 following institutional ethical approval, without identifiable personal or school information.

Steps to reproduce

To reproduce the original descriptive statistics, import the UTF‑8 main CSV dataset in standard statistical software, keep all 437 records including structural zero values, treat lesson_id 257 and 314 as undefined for the `irfa_complete_seq_prop` variable, use the provided built‑in higher‑order proportion columns instead of recalculating them from individual category shares, compute statistics on the full sample to check benchmark means, explicitly document any custom subsampling if filtering zero‑value cases, and apply proper citation per the dataset’s CC BY 4.0 licence requirement.
