Description

The resting motor threshold (RMT) was measured before and immediately after each of four stimulation conditions, i.e. tNIRS, tDCS, tNIRS + tDCS, and sham stimulation. RMT was defined as the lowest stimulus intensity sufficient to produce MEP ≥50 µV peak-to-peak amplitude in the relaxed muscle in 5 of 10 subsequent trials. If RMT was changed after stimulation, a new threshold was used to measure MEP after stimulation. The MEP amplitudes of the right FDI at 120% RMT were recorded before (as baseline) and immediately and 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 min after simulations. Ten Peak-to-peak MEP amplitudes intervals of 5 s (varied randomly by±1 s) were measured from individual traces, and the values were subsequently averaged for each of the eight time points.
