Description

The dataset is part of the study, titled "Effects of grain size on subaerial granular landslides and resulting impulse waves: experiment and multi-phase flow simulation" (DOI: 10.1007/s10346-021-01760-z). Figure03 contains the experimental images and the spatial distributions of simulated sand concentration (c) and simulated water saturation (s) for Case 1. Figure04 contains the time series of the measured free surface displacements and the simulated ones for Case 1. Figure05 contains the simulated flow front position, the simulated wave height, and the simulated wave crest position for Case 1. Figure06 contains the experimental images and the spatial distributions of simulated sand concentration (c) and simulated water saturation (s) for Cases 1-4. Figure07 contains the measured maximum free surface displacement(Eta_max_Experiment) and simulated ones (Eta_max_simulation) for the different particle diameters (Diameter). Figure08 contains the simulated solid velocity fields, the simulated fluid velocity fields, the simulated dimensionless drag force, and the simulated dimensionless buoyancy for Case 1. Figure09 contains the simulated solid velocity fields, the simulated fluid velocity fields, the simulated dimensionless drag force, and the simulated dimensionless buoyancy for Case 4. Figure10 contains the time series of the simulated dimensionless total frictional force for Cases 1-4. Figure11 contains the time series of the simulated dimensionless buoyancy and drag force for Cases 1-4. Figure12 contains the measured air-sand interface and the simulated dimensionless friction force for Cases 5 and 6.
