Description

The electromagnetic characterization was performed using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) model N5235A, with the Agilent software package. The 11644A WR-90 waveguide mechanical calibration kit was used to calibrate the VNA in the X-band frequency range (8.2 to 12.4 GHz), transverse electric (TE10) mode. Simulation data were obtained with the Altair FEKO®, version 2021.2.4, computational electromagnetics (CEM) module with the full-wave domain frequency solution method of moments (MoM). Scattering Parameters (S–Parameters (S11; S21; S22; S12)). Relative complex permittivity (εr = ε’ – jε”) and the relative complex permeability (μr = μ’ – jμ”)

Steps to reproduce

The CF fabric was cut in 6 different orientation angles, named as CFneat 0°, CFneat 30°, CFneat 45°, CFneat – 45°, CFneat 60°, and CFneat 90°. All CF samples presented an average thickness of 0.36 mm. The composite samples were prepared in stacking lamination with the hand layup method and cured in an open mold at room temperature. The PDMS samples were prepared with 3 different thicknesses of 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 mm, named PDMSneat 1.0 mm, PDMSneat 2.0 mm, and PDMSneat 3.0 mm.
