Description

Hamstring muscle tightness is a common issue among sports persons, often leading to discomfort and reduced performance. Both Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and conventional therapy are utilized in addressing this concern, yet their comparative effectiveness remains unclear. Materials and Methods: The participants underwent a pre-intervention assessment to establish baseline measurements of hamstring muscle tightness. The MET group received sessions of MET targeting hamstring muscles, while the conventional therapy group received standard therapy interventions. Post-intervention assessments were conducted to evaluate changes in hamstring muscle tightness. Conclusion: While both Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and conventional therapy demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing hamstring muscle tightness among sports persons, the active participation required in MET likely contributes to its superior outcomes. Incorporating MET into rehabilitation programs can offer athletes a more engaged and effective approach to addressing hamstring issues.
