Vibration data of the rigid and flexible rotors using the smartphone's integrated accelerometer

The vibration data acquired from two unbalanced rotors, the first is a rigid rotor (Case 1) and the second is flexible (Case 2). The objective is to balance the rotor for both cases using the smartphone's vibration data, without the need for any extra instrument. the balancing procedure will be carried out just by the amplitude measurement without the phase response measurements, using the 4-runs balancing method. For both Cases: - The acquisition has been carried out using a smartphone with a sampling frequency of 100Hz. - The Reference Name of the smartphone's accelerometer is BOSCH BMC150. - The rotational speed of the rotor is approximately 1525rpm. - The acquisition includes vibration data in the vertical (Y-axis) and the horizontal (Z-axis) directions according to the coordinate system of the smartphone. Case 1: Rigid rotor - An imbalance mass was artificially installed on the rotor (equal to 11 grams) at the position of 75 degrees. - The rigid rotor satisfies perfectly the assumption of linearity. Case 2: Flexible rotor - An imbalance mass was artificially installed on the rotor (equal to 12 grams) at the position of 60 degrees. - The flexible rotor does not satisfy perfectly the assumption of linearity in the Y-axis direction. The objective is to apply the new hybrid balancing method and the 4-runs method in order to look for the imbalance mass for each rotor, and estimate the corrective weight for each case.
