Dataset for: Microwave-assisted pack titanizing on UNS G15130 steel using recycled Ti-6Al-4V machining chips
Description
This dataset contains the experimental data supporting the article: “Microwave-assisted pack titanizing on UNS G15130 steel using recycled Ti-6Al-4V machining chips”. The study compares two processing conditions: G15-M: microwave hybrid heating G15-R: conventional resistive furnace The dataset includes: X-ray diffraction (XRD) data (2θ vs intensity) for phase identification Potentiodynamic polarization curves (potential vs current density) for corrosion analysis EDS line scan profiles across diffusion layers (position vs elemental intensity) Surface profilometry data, including 3D maps and roughness parameters (Sa, Sz) Representative SEM micrographs of coating morphology Temperature evolution profiles recorded during processing All files are provided in text-based or widely compatible formats and correspond directly to the figures and analyses presented in the associated manuscript.

Pack titanizing coatings were produced on UNS G15130 steel using a powder mixture based on recycled Ti-6Al-4V machining chips. The pack composition consisted of Ti source material, Al2O3 filler, and NH4Cl activator. Samples were treated at 1000 °C for 1 h under two conditions: - Microwave hybrid heating (G15-M) - Conventional resistive furnace (G15-R) After processing, samples were characterized by SEM/EDS, XRD, optical profilometry, and electrochemical testing. The data provided correspond to the raw and processed outputs used in the analysis presented in the associated article.
