The data comprises of annotation and contig files from selected SRB MAGs mentioned in this study. In addition, fasta files containing the amino acid sequences used for phylogenetic tree construction and nucleotide sequences of micC variants used for primer pair and probe design. Additional sequencing raw data have been deposited at NCBI’s Sequence Read Archive (SRA) as bioproject PRJNA1177486
