Description

PANC1 cells treated with TGFbeta underwent epithelial mesenchymal transition as indicated by the change in the levels of E-Cadherin and N-cadherin. 9-cis retinoic acid (RA) treatment of PANC1 cells caused a decrease in e-cadherin. The levels of various genes known to be involved in EMT were also altered after these various treatments as shown in the RTPCR data. Western blotting analysis of PANC1 cell lysates after various treatments as indicated in the primary raw file showed increased levels of fibronectin and collagen after treatment with TGFbeta and 9-cis RA. This increase was however reversed when the cells were incubated with HX531. ELISA detected increase in the levels of fibronectin in plasma of patients diagnosed with pancreatitis, IPMN and PDAC compared to controls however, the highest levels were detected in the PDAC cohort. ELISA was OGT enzyme showed a significant increase in its levels
