Data from Genome-wide scan for selection signatures in Mexican Gir cattle

The sampled Gir animals included 226 animals (10 males and 216 females) from three farms in Mexico's tropical areas. Tail hair samples were collected from each bovine and submitted for genotyping with a 50k SNP chip (GGP Indicus 50k ). Quality controls on animals and markers of the set were performed using the PLINK software version 1.90 (Purcell et al., 2007) according to the following parameters: minimum SNP call rate of 90%, minor allele frequencies > 0.01, only autosomal SNPs were considered, and only individuals with high genotyping (at least 90% complete call rate) were included.
