Chapter 4 Experiment design, data acquisition and signal processing Gait variability (GV) from kinetics measurement 3D-GRF of both limbs: vertical Ground Reaction Force (vGRF), Medial-Lateral Force (MLF), and Anterior-Posterior Force (APF). Typical signal processing algorithm to calculate GV obtaining a special Matrix Gait Cycle (MGC), where MGC is as a matrix that contain all the gait cycles separated by stride times, to facilitate GV’s 3D-GRF charts, and other calculations used to analyze the behaviors of signals obtained from the human body. Signal processing of joint angles as kinematic measurement, to calculate angular kinematic as absolutes and relative angles. Examples to obtain joint angles from x-y coordinates, and calculation for range of motion (ROM). Signal processing by combinations of synchronized signals from different Bioinstruments. General approach for experiment design in measurement of the human body with: kinematic, kinetic, and muscles potentials activities from sEMG. Examples of research papers using the general approach for experiment design in Biomechanics.
