Selective consumption of fodder by captive fallow deer (Dama dama) in response to patch shape (blocks and lines) and distribution of food quality within patches (low and high tannin fodder offered in alternate, single-contrast and double-contrast patterns). Dataset includes whether the trial was the first or second performed for the day, the maximum number of deer participating in the trial and the duration of trial.
